Make sure you book the room with views of the Edinburgh Castle . It's a rare opportunity to sleep in a room with the castle just outside your window.

The Cranston's Restaurant here serves traditional Scottish cuisine--simply fantastic. Great views from here as well .

Try and get a dinner or breakfast table at the front of the building, for the views . Avoid rooms on the side of the building - noisy !

Can't find the switch for the towel rail? Check outside the bathroom next to the light switch.

DO NOT get an internal room. They are permanently dark and have no outlook. The windows have opaque glass. Not good enough in 21st Century Britain. They are also noisy due to the fans outside.
