The current station has been in place since July 1, 1931, when it replaced the Calvary Cemetery stop to the south, to better serve the developing residential area directly to the north of the cemetery. The station has only seen slight modifications to the since, mostly to lighting and signage.

This stop is probably the best smelling location with in the CTA system.
Parking is usually pretty manageable around this station. A nice alternative if you don't want to pay for parking at Howard.
Possibly the dumpiest El stop on the grid. One of these days they'll upgrade the station.
