The third floor landing is really cool. They host things that go on here. The Sand Mandala that they hosted this year was so beautiful. I took pictures of the stunning work the buddist monks did!

You gotta check out the ornate, etched staircase . Reminds me of the artwork from the treasure hunting book by Kit Williams published in the 70's.
After you walk up Lisa's staircase , be sure to inquire about the writer's room, a little office/hidey hole for people working on bona fide writing projects.
The Friends Bookstore is cute . Check out the tree in the kids' room and the end panel on the shelves near the computers.
Do not use the restroom . I've tried 10x and there's always a homeless guy taking a nap every time I go.
Great place to read and zone out.
The nook in the records room on the second floor is the best study spot .
Comfortable places to charge and read in peace
Drop off on 11th street - binder side first - best for books !
Just have a few minutes? Hit up the lucky day selections - great choices!
The mobile app rocks! Check out Freegal for free music you can download and keep
Taking the elevator to the third floor is advised if to have bad knees or aren't in marathon shape.

The architecture is gorgeous. Take the stairs.
Stay away from the map room on third floor, noisy teens , farting, and smelly!
There's a lot of people sleeping in here.
I love the staircases in this building.
Let's just say there's some rather sketchy people.
The library has an app now for iPhone & android!
