Mature beech woodland with pockets of orchid rich limestone grassland. Good site for fungi. Species include Roman snail. The warden is based at Crickley Hill.

On the Spring Bank Holiday (the last Monday in May) every year there's a crazy event called the Cheese Roll . It's chasing a Double Gloucester Cheese down a 1:2 (1:1 in places) crazy steep hill . Do it!
Try not to break anything chasing cheese on spring back holiday, but realise there's a good chance you will!
