Despite sustaining damage from wildfires in 2011, Bastrop State Park is great spot for camping , swimming , and even golfing . The park was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Great park and campsites .. (#56) the trails are beautiful and they have nice showers with private doors all air conditioned also which is a huge plus!! :)

bastrop lake access nonexistent since they seems they had to drain part of it. Cool to see nature rebounding after the fire. Definitely a unique hike . Remember w/o lots of trees it gets hot! No shade

Wonderful place for a camping trip or just a short visit to soak up the Loblolly Pine trees , there's fishing too.

Its recovering well from the fire, not all the pines were lost so it is still heavily wooded, great new roads and camp sites.

The golf course was built back in the 30's by The CCC.. It was just a 9 hole course but bak in 95-96' it became a 18hole course.
