This courtly little town , located in the northern Marches, on the Via Flaminia. Still today Cagli retains its Roman grid plan that frames a proper central square, a steely medieval town hall .

Cagli occupies the site of an ancient village on the Via Flaminia. The fortified complex, built in 1481, was designed for Duke Federico III da Montefeltro by Francesco di Giorgio Martini
