One of the best breakfast spots that I've been to. The inside of the building can get pretty warm regardless of season. Try the José and pancakes ! Be on the lookout for sarcastic servers.
Lovely and super old-school breakfast counter with only 14 seats, filled with people who've been going for decades and tourists alike. Awesome service. The eggs Benedict are ????, albeit quite buttery.
The blueberry walnut pancakes are insane and I loved the huevos scramble with peppers and onions and homemade salsa , too.
The pancakes are extraordinary: plate-sized, thin, and chewy, with a good measure of buttermi lk, and blueberries or giant blackberries can be added. Don't skip the eggs benedict , either. Read more
I had the Spanish omelet and waffles , very yummy! Staff is friendly and the rest of the menu looks great, I hope to be back soon :)
Esquire: Flapjacks on the griddle. Hazy morning sunlight through stained-glass awnings. Foreign currency tacked to a shelf, above the Magic Markered coffee mugs belonging to various regulars.
Worth the wait in line every time. Very unique dining experience. Best diner breakfast , hands down!
Best to come in small groups. Anything over 3 gets unmanageable. The blueberry pancakes are famous but I prefer the corn ones. Definitely get bacon . Put syrup on everything.
Best pancakes I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and it was a fun atmosphere .
Careful with holding a line spot for someone else. If you get called, the person should be there or else you forfeit the seat. Also be prepared for sliding during the meal to accommodate.
Al's is one of the best breakfast places I've ever been to. Bring cash, and plan on being in a delicious food coma after you're done!
My absolute favorite breakfast place in the cities . Be prepared to wait, the line often wraps around the block, especially when it's nice out!
The food was great, the service was top notch - will go there again and without reservation would recommend it
One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Worth the wait!! Get the eggs Benedict and Jose!!
Grab the blueberry pancakes -- they're legitimately second to none and the ambiance alone is worth the modest price of your check. Read more

Great quick breakfast . Worth the wait (assuming it's less than an hour). Watch your elbows for the customer traffic!

Had ham , eggs and blueberry wheat pancakes , all pretty good. Auper small place. Cash only .
Make sure to bring cash-- no cards accepted. You can create a prepaid tab if you're not one to carry cash with you.
Cozy , delicious, cheap just be prepared to wait a while, seating at the counter is limited
Voted Best Pancakes by City Pages in 2011! This 10 ft wide Dinkytown diner , boasting only 14 seats, makes breakfast an experience, not just a meal.
Get there early! It's a small place and the lines can get long. Totally worth it though.
Glad to have tried it, as the food was scrumptious. That said, waiting in a line uncertain as to when or if you'll be eating is not my style.
Try the Bacon waffle - Omg! such amazing breakfast food . I am now going to fly to this city JUST to eat breakfast on the weekends!
Best Pancakes : Old School 2012: Walnut blueberry cakes (yes, worth the wait) http://bit.ly/V5uoHq
They have bacon pancakes ! They're not on the menu , but if you ask they'll make 'em.
Awesome diner breakfast , all the pancakes are good
Blueberry pancakes and anything with the Smokey cheddar
Look at the menu and figure out your order before you sit down! Will make Al's staff (and other diners) very happy!
Feeling healthy? Order the Spring mix . Or, go all out with the Jose and a single stack of blues .
Cash only . Can't go wrong with the blueberry walnut pancakes .
Excellent service n staff !!
Kick ass breakfast spot ! But get there early!
They won't let you hd a ace in line so your whole party needs to be here :)
The narrowest breakfast in town . Go in, wait behind someone who is eating and claim your spot.
Don't order huevos rancheros they suck. The coffee is super duper good! Order pancakes and waffles . Busty and his service was good. Will go back.

The Jose is the best! On old school diner with great breakfast !
Get the hash . The blueberry pancake are awesome. Don't forget the Spike Omelet .
It's always a Jose and a short stack for me. Best breakfast in America!
Wally-blues are awesome, but my pick is a Spike, extra garlic , 1/2 a hollie, dark rye and a side of bacon , easy
Make sure you specify that your hash browns should be crispy .
The Blueberry flapjacks are divine
That bacon waffle tho!????
