Glass Beach is a beach Fort Bragg located in United States.
Glass Beach Drive (at Elm Street) Fort Bragg , CA 95437 United States
I believed some of the reviews about there being no glass left and crossed this off my list. A local friend suggested I go by anyway and I was glad I did, plenty of beautiful sea glass to be seen!
Beach was once used as a dumping spot during prohibition era for all things glass/ceramic.Now the beach is almost entirely comprised of sea glass.Keep an eye open, you never know what you might find.
Access to the real Glass Beach is closed until November 2017 for rehabilitation. “North Glass Beach” is open to the right, but there won't be as much glass .
Loved this beach so much!!! It's so awesome that this beach is covered in beautiful colored glass the ocean has washes up onto the beach . You will really miss out if you don't see this. Go!!
it's funny how half the people say there is no glass and others say tons of glass . Mendocino has a gorgeous coastline. Glass beach rocks! Tons of glass and yes small pieces. Cops are friendly !
The wash rock to the south used to have an offshore bordello owned by the Golden West, so be on the lookout for gold coins (drinking, nightlife, money exchanging hands. . . you get the picture).
It's in a more industrial part of town . The beach area is small. The photos on-line make the beach appear more than what it is, so come with an open mind.
Beauty from damage. The glass has been picked over for the last several decades. Dig down a little and the magic emerges. Tide pools !
Go to the left and go down the cliff. It's not as steep as it looks. If you don't see glass everywhere, you're at the wrong beach . STAY LEFT for glass.
Rock formation and of course the view and the Glass Beach!
Such a cute little beach-the sea glass is so pretty!
As of August 2019 there is lots of small glass on the beach . Not sure what it was like in the past but though it was pretty cool for kids to dig thru.
The glass is interesting. The view of waves breaking on so many rocks at sea is breathtaking
Come early in the morning at 6am and watch the Pacific slowly light up
sea glass is smaller than i thought. still a nice beach to visit with plenty of street parking .
It’s all fenced off and it seems what was the original draw is dwindling
Anyone who tells you there isn't any glass left didn't walk far enough. There's still plenty there and it really does look like the pictures!
Definitely go at low tide for the best beachcombing!
I was amazed by the different colors on the small rocks
Very very foggy. Interesting story behind how the sea glass was generated. Shame so many people were letting their kids collect it and take it with them. Won't be around for others to enjoy
From the parking lot , keep left to see the real Glass Beach. You have to scramble down the cliff to get there (definitely not wheelchair accessible ). If you don't see glass, you're at the wrong beach .
Turn left at the end of the fence, and find the almost deserted beach with tons of glass !
If you keep taking handfuls of the glass, they'll have to rename it Gravel Beach .
The Pacific Coast Highway is a very picturesque way to get to Glass Beach. Watch out for Mendocino County Sheriff's Deputies during the latter half of any month.
Nice beach to walk in but not for swimming .
Gorgeous at sunset
Best to head out to Glass Beach after 12pm. Best times of the year are March and November - that is when you can find the most sea glass .
Lovely on a sunny day!
TIme your visit for low tide. High tide closes off many of the best glass-finds.
10 Aug. 2014 - Beautiful day. Not too crowded and 65F.
only if you know where to find it! its beautiful!
Don't collect the glass.
No glass on the beach !!! :-(
Go left ... Much more glass on the beach
Broken glass everywhere, people pissing on the stairs you know they just don't care, can't take the smell I can't take the noise got no money to move out I guess I got no choice…
Great glass, dirty beach
Where's the glass?
How to turn the old dump to an attraction .
The glass is half the size of a jelly bean
Not much glass left, a lot of it has been picked up by visitors apparently
You can't see the glass anymore but it still kinda funky place to spend time. Walk the beach and explore the rock formations . It's just off the bike path .
Mind the local sheriff's deputies crawling around Ft Bragg. They aim to milk visitors with fines for driving and parking violations, regardless of whether one actually breaks their laws.
There is little to no glass at Glass Beach because thousands of people have each taken a handful, thinking “only one handful won’t matter.”
No more glass on glass beach... apart from that it's a beautiful spot.
In 2010 there was so much colored "glass" to be found. Today not so much.
There's no glass on glass beach.
Don't go! The pictures were definitely shot using macro mode! The beach is stinky and there are too few glass pebbles :(
Eh. Very busy for not a lot of anything.
Das meiste Glas wurde wohl schon von den Turisten mitgenommen.
Bike along the ocean across the Pudding Creek bridge. You can stop and walk to the end of the cliffs or trek down to the beach. - Jeff Weinstein
Lot's of awesome sand. This is the best place to be all afternoon. - Jeremy Leslie
such a cute little taproom, and they make scrimshaw, which is one of my favorite beers! - cami j.
You have to stop here-best ice cream I've ever had! S'mores, coconut, cake batter, cookie dough--it's all good! And try the mushroom! It's not as weird as you think. I hate mushrooms but loved this! - Emily D.
Turn left when the path divides. You wont see any pebbles if you follow where everyone is goin. If you see two benches facing each other, climb down to the shore to see the glass pebbles - Faye Reyes
